hey man. i have this mic. and i have to say it does sound great. and a few days ago it just crapped out on me man. not sure what it can be. its just dead. i have been looking up problems with these mics and cant really find to many people with problems with them. but i have heard that the power supply isnt the greatest . just wondering what your input on this subject can be. i tried using different mic cables to the power supply. i have not tried using a new cable to the mic from the power supply i had to replace it 2 months ago . lost it on the move to my new house. so i dont think its that cable just because its so new. now i open the mic up and the tube doesnt look bad or burn. but im not sure what im looking for. even tried different power cables for the power supply. nothing.now on protools i did notice that if i record something solo it and crank it up it does record something very quite but it does work some what. you think maybe its the power supply wanted another point of view before i spent 50 bucks and it not even be the power supply. thanks and let me know what u think it will be appreciated
thanks

DREW KRAG: Hey guys, this is Drew Krag with another Home Studio Workshop. Today, we’re in the studio with the Marshall Electronics V69 Mogami Edition tube microphone. This is actually the first time I’ve tried this microphone out so let’s take a little listen. Like as always, I’m going to use this same acoustic guitar, and we’re going to just try first about six inches, seven inches away dead on the sound hole, and then we’re going to try it at about a 45-degree tilt. All right. So let’s try this.

So, it sounds pretty good. Just pointing out, I’m using a thinner pick this time guys so that does change the attack of the strings themselves so that is a notable difference on. And let’s try this 45-degree tilt so it’s a little bit less boomy.

There you have it. That’s the Marshall Electronics V69 Mogami Edition. Thanks for watching.
