Marshall Amplification Dave Mustaine Special Edition MG Microstack Announced For Megadeth's Front Man
Megadeth's Dave Mustaine and Marshall Amplification teamed up to make the Dave Mustaine special edition MG microstack guitar amplifier, also known as the “Megastack.” The three-piece unit includes a 15W compact head with four channels, plus two matching speaker cabinets (one angled and one straight.) Each cabinet is loaded with a full-range 10-inch Celestion speaker.
The special edition is available in limited quantities in the United States, so if you want it, don't wait too long to get it. The amplifier is similar to Mustaine’s full-sized touring rig in terms of looks. It's a bit smaller though, with open-faced, diamond-pattern cabinets, a black-powder-coated steel kick grille, and “Carbon Fibre” black patterned vinyl.
The micro Megastack also has a four-channel amplifier just like Mustaine’s Marshall JVM rig, which provides access to clean, crunch, and overdrives via four pre-programmed tones (Clean Absolution, Symphony Chorus, New Wave Of British Metal, and Holy Solo). In addition, the amplifier has a three-stage EQ with independent Bass, Middle, and Treble controls. Built-in effects include Reverb, Chorus, Phaser, Flanger and Delay.
As for inputs and outputs, the amp features a Line input and combination Line / Headphone output. The optional Stompware footswitch provides seamless transitioning, as well as access to four additional presets, tap tempo control, and a display for the built-in tuner. This pedal can also be connected using a traditional guitar cable.
Marshall will announce the price and ship date sometime in the near future. For more details, visit marshallamps.com.
