Marshall TSL 100 Triple Super Lead JCM2000: High Lead Content May Lead To Lead Poisoning
From classic clean to crunchy blues to grinding metal, the Marshall TSL 100 Triple Super Lead JCM2000 can run the gauntlet. J. Irving-Giles flips through the channels before realizing there's nothing good to watch on TV and better invests his time demoing the Marshall TSL 100 Triple Super Lead.
J. IRVING-GILES: Hi. I’m J. Irving-Giles with Gearwire.Com, and I’m here with the Marshall TSL100. It’s the JCM2000 Triple Super Lead. It’s got four preamp tubes, four power tubes. In the preamp section you got ECC83s, and in the power section you’ve got some EL34s, and just three channels. You got cleanm, lead, and crunch channel. It’s got a reverb on the unit and a control for it on the footswitch to turn it on and off. It’s also got an effects loop on and off, and let’s give each of the channels a try. Each one has it’s own independent volume and gain. It has its tone controls for treble, bass, and mid, just as you’d expect. So, clean on this is really nice so I’ve got it there first.

Then I’ll switch over to the crunch channel. The crunch has [PLAYS A RIFF] a nice gritty sound, good for some Delta blues.

All right. And then finally the lead channel which kicks the gain up to pretty headbanging levels here.

All right. And on each of these three channels, there’s just a button you can push in or pull out. On the clean, it’s a mid boost.

That’s no mid boost, and this is with the mid boost.

So there’s -- You can hear a lot more mids in there. You can hear it beefier and fuller. Switch to the crunch channel, and it’s a tone shift switch.

Here’s with it off.

On.

And same thing for the lead channel.

And you can hear with it on it gives it more of a trebly feel, more high end, and when you have it off, you can feel just the kick of the low mids a little better. But overall, it’s been a very popular amp. I know they’re on the JVM Series now but JCM2000 has been around for a while. I’ve had this one passed around between a lot of people for a while, and despite a few trips to the dealer to get things checked out, it’s still working pretty strong today, so that’s the Marshall JCM2000 Triple Super Lead.
