Marshall Vintage Modern: Getting Rave Reviews From Both Vintage And Modern Rockers Alike
Marshall's new Vintage Modern amp series boasts versatile tone and gain that gives a lot of options in tonal shaping so that it can pull off a classic hard rock tone as easily as gain driven modern tone through an all valve head.
Recently, a variety of artists put in their two cents about the Vintage Modern; most notably Slash who commented that "It's incredibly dynamic and has got the kind of saturation where all the natural nuances of your guitar still come through. It has a big, warm, smooth, even sound, but the amp doesn't take over- you can actually still hear the string against the fingerboard."
Speed king Paul Gilbert noted "I have never had so much control over the important elements of my tone." While Ron Asheton from Iggy and the Stooges praised the aesthetics. "I love the purple color 'cause it looks different in different lighting on stage. Sometimes you walk up to it, and it looks black. And then you see it in the daytime at sound check, and it looks purple."
Jake Cinninger of Umphreys McGee had this to say, "It's got distortions ranging from searing metallic with the detail gain stage, to lava thick overdrive from the body main stage, or you can combine the perfect amount from both worlds of gain...Amazing."
The Vintage Modern has gotten rave reviews from a variety of musicians touting different styles who are both happy with this amp's awesome tone and it's cool looks.
