MARTIN GUITAR REPRESENTATIVE: Well you know, most people think of Martin Guitars as kind of a traditional guitar company. We got a call from Buddy Guy. He’s in Chicago, he’s looking for an acoustic guitar, doing a really neat acoustic album, and he wanted a Martin. So, we shipped him out a really nice jumbo model that’s a deep bodied really full sound instrument. He loved it and we got into a conversation about what his optimum guitar would be. And you know, Buddy is into polka dots. He wears polka dot shirts and polka dot pants and polka dot shoes, and he thought he had to have a polka dot guitar, and this is, like he said, a little bit over the top for us but we got right down to it. And using recomposite turquoise stone, executed the inlays around the rosette, on the bridge, the bridge pins, the fingerboard with Buddy’s initials at the 12th fret and even the Martin logo at the top in the turquoise material. Buddy likes to plug in and we gave him a volume and tone control. He does a lot of little nuances with his volume and tones, and this is about as untraditional as Martin ever gets but very cool and over the top, and I think for my money this is about as collectible as a guitar it gets because of how many unusual features it has, so go Buddy.
