M-Audio Axiom 25 / 49 / 61: Updated USB MIDI Keyboard Controllers To Ship This Week
Avid and M-Audio have announced new versions of the M-Audio Axiom 25, Axiom 49, and Axiom 61 USB MIDI keyboard controllers.
Designed for live performance and software-based music production, the updated 25-, 49-, and 61-key keyboard controllers now feature DirectLink technology, an enhanced keybed, and a redesigned user interface.
DirectLink technology provides dedicated control surface functionality that automatically maps keyboard controls to common mixer and virtual instrument parameters. With this technology onboard, you get hands-on control over your mix and your music without any complicated set up or user configuration required, according to the manufacturer. DirectLink works with major digital audio workstations (DAWs) including Avid Pro Tools, Ableton Live, Apple Logic Pro, and Steinberg Cubase.
Thanks to the enhanced keybed, each model has an updated semi-weighted piano-style keyboard that provides a more comfortable, familiar playing experience for playing software and hardware instruments.
The controllers' redesigned user interface offers improved ergonomics for use in the studio and onstage. Each one now features an angled top panel that makes controls easier to access and view in any environment, along with low-profile mixer-style faders (on the Axiom 49 and Axiom 61 only), which enable a hands-on mix experience; and smooth rotary encoders that provide precise control over software and MIDI parameters. All Axiom models provide informative feedback via a graphic LCD, which is centrally positioned for easy viewing on the Axiom 49 and Axiom 61.
New features for M-Audio Axiom controllers:
- DirectLink technology that provides hands-on control and automatically maps keyboard controls to common mixer and virtual instrument parameters
- Enhanced keybed: an updated semi-weighted, piano-style keyboard delivers a better playing experience, one that's ideal for playing software and hardware instruments
- Redesigned user interface offers better ergonomics with an angled top panel, low-profile mixer-style faders, smooth rotary encoders, and feedback via a graphic LCD
