Maxon AD999 Pro Recently Added To Vintage Series
The paradoxically newest member of Maxon's Vintage Series, the AD999 Pro Analog Delay, has been released. It's a combination of th AD999 and the AD-9 Pro delay units all in one box.
The AD999 Pro utilizes four Maxon MC4107D bucket brigade ICs that can't help that they're custom made with 900 milliseconds of delay time that is going to be available anywhere you see its name on the marquee. More custom-made Maxon ingenuity finds its way into the AD999 Pro as delay repeats get filtered with an RMS level sensor and companding noise reduction circuitry.
The AD999 Pro also makes itself versatile for use with any input signal type and in amp effects loops. It has a maximum input level of +12 dB and improved low range response for delay tone that is clear, firm and warm all at the same time.
Another nice touch is the new "Multi-Head" mode. It emulates tape delay by feeding midstream delay signals back into the circuit. This can be used for complicated multi-tap delay repeat rhythms that'll make The Edge jealous or just more spacious sound effects akin to multiple reverb types.
Consistent performance is nearly guaranteed by Maxon's DC to DC voltage converter / regulator. The pedal ships with the Maxon AC2009 power supply, an auto-sensing PSU that knows where it is and how to work there. Finally, stereo outputs on the AD999 Pro let you pan the signal to two sources for a menage-a-trois of delay bouncing fun.
