McDSP Channel-G, McDSP Emerald Pack4.0, McDSP Retro Pack: A Little Something For Everyone This Holiday Season

McDSP G-Channel, McDSP Emerald Pack4.0, McDSP Retro Pack

It's like Christmahannukwanzika in February! McDSP just released four new products, each of which would make the perfect. . . uh. . . St. David's Day* present.

Retro Pack (HD $995, Native $495)

McDSP Retro Pack contains three plugins that emulate the classic analog signal path, perfect for mastering or tracking that'll yield that old-school vibe.

  • 4020 Retro EQ - four-band EQ and complimentary filter set.he HF and LF bands are shelving EQ, with two additional parametric EQs at the HMF and LMF bands. All EQ operates on a unique gain dependent variable slope/Q system for a vintage smooth sound with added intelligence for steeper responses at high gains.
  • 4030 Retro Compressor - An active attack and release design allows aggressive compression settings with minimal artifact generation. Wet/Dry mix control.
  • 4040 Retro Limiter - a look-ahead brick wall limiter function with several subjective treatments to make the limiting action subtle, and yet vintage.

Channel G Compact (HD $495, Native $295) and Channel G Surround (HD-only $495)
Two new versions of McDSP's "big board experience" channel strip plugin. "Compact" feature a smaller DSP footprint, with dynamics, EQ and filters combined into one plugin. "Surround" adds 5.1 dynamics processing power to the Channel-G setup, with intelligent compressor ‘sets’ (LR, C, LsRs, LFE) for maximum control over surround format dynamics. All Channel G plugs integrate seamlessly with the Digidesign D-Control and D-Command control surfaces.

Emerald Pack 4.0 (HD $2995, Native $1595)
A complete music-production solution, comprised of McDSP's uncanny recreations of vintage equalizers, compressors, tape machines and channel amplifiers. This comprehensive bundle includes:

  • Analog Channel - high-end "tape machine" compression and saturation modeling
  • Channel G
  • Channel G Compact
  • Chrome Tone - guitar amp modeling and effects
  • CompressorBank - vintage and modern compressor emulation
  • DE555 - transparent de-essing
  • FilterBank - "Every EQ Ever Made"
  • FutzBox - "lo-fi" distortion and noise generation
  • MC2000 - multi-band compressor
  • ML4000 - limiter designed for music, mastering, post, and live sound
  • NF575 - noise / notch filter
  • Revolver - high-powered convolution reverb
  • Synthesizer One - wave table and analog oscillators, a completely modular design, flexible filtering, and a dedicated effects section
