I don't know about you, but the only reason I let people know about my birthday is in the hopes that they buy me at least one beer or even just throw me some cash. If I were to be expected to be the one putting out (financially) on my birthday, you can be sure no one would be privy, and if they asked, I'd tell them I was brought to this country when I was either 13 or 14 to play junior league baseball, and lost my birth records in transit.
