Meinl Turbo Cajon: One Speedy Box Of Percussive Goodness
From its humble origins, the Cajon has become a major force in percussion music, its simple yet versatile nature being embraced from the depths of South America up to the "acoustic" club circuit in the Philippines. Making that extra step towards cutting edge as well as bearing that innovative outlook, the Meinl Turbo Cajon is soon to become a cajonista's dream box.
The fruit of a concept from instrument designer Oliver Bottger, the Turbo Cajon is made out of red oak. This instrument has deeply cut channels in the upper corners to give castanet-like striking surfaces. This feature gives a reinforced slap effect that could be controlled with varying degrees of hand pressure. Internal snare wires complete the sound-making features to give the Turbo Cajon a very wide sound palette.
Comfort and stability are also handled via the padded sitting surface and rubber feet. Bearing a matte finish, the Meinl Turbo Cajon not only has good tone, it exhibits good looks too. Suggested retail price for the Turbo Cajon (CAJ4RO) is $380.00 USD.
