MHC Synthesizers and Effects keeps the beat going on with a new plugin called Ambient Drums. Aside from a library of drum sounds, Ambient Drums provides a whole range of useful functions and features that make operation a snap. In a nutshell, Ambient Drums is:

• A drum plug-in with synth functions, such as filters, envelopes, effects etc.
• 120 kits, 2000+ samples and 2000+ presets (if you buy all soundpacks)
• Ordinary .wav files (a great ambient collection) which you may use in your sampler
• A drum search application

The aforementioned and highly touted search function allows you to replace individual sounds within drum kits with any sound from Ambient Drums or any other sample library you possess. The search function itself operates as a standalone tool for your organizational convenience.

Of course, MHC packs their own sample library with Ambient Drums, and it contains a number of snares, kicks, toms, cymbals and beyond -- all themed around an ambient sound. If you're really into the concept of beyond, create your own sounds with Ambient Drums' synth functions.

Ambient Drums doubles as a sample player with synth functions built in with a specific focus on drums. The synth section contains resonant filters, traditional filter and amp envelopes, a pitch LFO and even effects. The integrated effects include algorithms suited for ambient drums. Included are 130 different effect algorithms featuring filter banks and everything from sub oscillators to delay.

Final features include velocity sensitivity and a a resonant fourth order lowpass filter that sounds very much like it's analog.
