BRIAN LANCER: Yeah. This is a TimewARP 2600 from a California company called Way Out Ware. Hi Jim. Here’s another. This is a classical rendition of the Oberheim.

BILL HOLLAND: I would say it looks like an Oberheim.

BRIAN LANCER: Exactly. And it’s an astonishingly good emulation. It’s -- On the web site, they actually have comparisons between the two you’d be very hard pressed to tell any difference to tell between the two. Guitar Rig 3 of course is now with the Komplete package so you have a complete effects rack ready to go, all sorts of pedals.

BILL HOLLAND: Well, the nice thing about using Guitar Rig 3 and Receptor is the fact that because that you have that good of a preamp on it for guitar, it’s going to sound even better than if you’re just using a standard interface.

BRIAN LANCER: Absolutely. I mean, it’s really -- It’s actually a problem. I mean latency is a huge problem when using plugins, and the fact that we’re able to run down to 32 samples of latency means you’re not having to suffer with the delay that you might have through like a USB interface or a FireWire interface plus you put it in your rack and take it on the road. You don’t have to worry about all sorts of cables and all sorts of stuff like that.

BILL HOLLAND: Excellent. Is this Chameleon here?

BRIAN LANCER: Yeah. This is the Chameleon from Camel Audio in Great Britain. This is a really stunning synthesizer. I’m really impressed to how you can actually morph between four different sounds at once. It’s additive, which has traditionally been a very, very difficult technology to bring because of the efficiency of it but runs really well in Receptor and it sounds really great.

BILL HOLLAND: All right. Well thank you so much. We’ll hear some samples from those in a little bit here at Fall 2007 AES at New York City.
