Mutec MC-7 Word Clock Distribution Amplifier and Audio Clock Converter Now Shipping
Germany-based manufacturer Mutec is now shipping the MC-7 Word Clock distribution amplifier and audio clock converter. In addition to syncing your digital audio devices, the MC-7 helps improve the acoustical properties of your recordings, according to Mutec.
The MC-7 converts and distributes Word Clock, AES3/11, and S/PDIF signals. An incoming reference signal passes the PLL circuits only to be distributed and output as a low-jitter clock signal, regardless of the condition of the original reference signal.
What's more, the MC-7 also functions as a multiplier for the clock rate of incoming reference signals. Outputs can be multiplied by x1, x2, and x4, for a range of output Word Clock rates from 32 kHz to 768 kHz. For live or broadcast use, activate the Hold feature, which provides interruption-free output signals. The unit also supports "super clocks" for older Digidesign Pro Tools systems.
The MC-7 sports 4 inputs and 11 outputs, has a built-in international power supply, and comes with a compact case. The unit is available now from authorized Mutec dealers and distributors.
