Native Instruments Kontakt-Powered, Concert Grand Piano Emulations Are Released
Put on your concert black and prepare your stage face for the four new acoustic piano instruments available from Native Instruments: Berlin Concert Grand, New York Concert Grand, Vienna Concert Grand, and Upright Piano. So named after their signature city sound, the software instruments offer the simulated sound of the renowned pianos.
All four pianos are powered by the Kontakt engine and are playable in the free Kontakt Player or the Kontakt sampler. Multisampling and advanced emulation of soundboard resonance and pedal behavior came together to re-create the subtle details of each piano. Details are as follows:
The Berlin Concert Grand, based on a modern take of German piano construction, is said to carry the original piano's vitality and expressiveness throughout the entire dynamic range. Likewise, the New York Concert Grand replicates the concert hall-ready piano and is suitable for performing jazz and classical solo material. The Vienna Concert Grand reproduces Austrian piano design with eight full octaves of orchestra-oriented sound. Lastly, the Upright Piano offers the warm tone of what Native Instruments calls one of the world’s best concert pianos.
Purchase the piano instruments individually ($79 MSRP each) or as part of a bundled set ($189 MSRP).

Hmm, 4 New, 4 Previous in Akoustic Piano, coincidence?
So this new pack for Kontakt has 4 notably generic names for the relevant pianos. The previously available Akoustic Piano had 4 specifically named pianos.
Is this just a repackaging to get around some annoying license fees, or is there some substance here?
