Native Instruments Scarbee Pre-Bass Amped Offers More Bass Recorded Through Four Different Amps
An amped-up version of the Native Instruments Pre-Bass software instrument has been released. Scarbee Pre-Bass Amped ($119 MSRP), which is derived from the Scarbee Blue Bass library, offers bass tones rendered after the Fender Precision bass that are ready to use in a variety of styles and genres.
Scarbee Pre-Bass Amped expands on the first Pre-Bass instrument by adding extra versions of the instrument recorded through four different amplifiers. You'll get bass tones in the four accompanying versions: Fat, Heavy, Crunchy, and Pop. Fat is a round and tight bass sound for rock- and pop-oriented music productions; Heavy is an edgy and hard bass sound for heavy rock oriented music productions; Crunchy is a powerful and mildly distorted bass sound specially produced for just rock; and Pop is a fat and crispy bass sound meant for R&B and pop music productions. According to NI, the bass tones in Pre-Bass Amped range from warm, round, and tight to crispy, hard, and slightly distorted types.
All four bass strings were sampled in nine velocities through each of the amplifiers, for a total of 12 GB of sample material. Powered by the Kontakt engine, Pre-Bass Amped is playable within Kontakt Player and Kontakt sampler.
