Native Instruments Sonic Fiction: Kore-Powered Instrument Presents Sci-Fi Sounds
Sound design artist Jeremiah Savage used field recording and advanced synthesis to create the sci-fi, otherworldly sounds for the Native Instruments Sonic Fiction ($79 MSRP) Kore-powered instrument. Playable with Kore 2 and the free Kore Player, Sonic Fiction is an ideal resource for film and game scoring, modern sound design, and electronic music production.
As the name implies, the sounds in Sonic Fiction were inspired by scenarios and concepts of the science fiction genre. Savage field recorded unusual sources, such as volcanic mudpots and television static, while using the synthesis and sound processing capabilities of Absynth, Kontakt and Kore to make his own imagined sounds.
The instrument comes with 100 KoreSounds with eight morphable sound variations each, for a total of 800 individual sounds. You can use Kore 2 and the Kore Player to adjust parameters, and use the included musical metadata to help you integrate Sonic Fiction into your collection of other instruments.
