Neumann KK Mic Capsule Heads Relased For KM D Series

August 28, 2007
Neumann has announced the KK 131, KK 143, and KK 145 mic capsules for their KM D series.

Neumann's KM D miniature digital microphones now have three new capsule head options. Neumann has announced the KK 131 a free field-equalized omni-directional capsule, the KK 143 with a wide cardioid pattern, and the KK 145 cardioid with low frequency roll-off.

These capsule heads will join three more existing capsule heads in the KK series for use with their KM D digital microphones. The heads were based off of the AK series heads for the miniature analog KM 100 and KM 180 series.

All of the new and old KK series capsule heads come in either classic nickel or the newer nextel black finishes and ship out in a protective wooden box.

Neumann's A/D converter within these microphones offers a far greater dynamic range that of the capsule, and boasts some excellent features:

  • No coloration and absolute transparency
  • Supports all standard sampling frequencies from 44.1kHz to 192kHz.
  • DSP functions including gain
  • A compressor/limiter with de-esser and a peak limiter
