Neumann TLM 102 Microphone Runs With The Big Boys
October 12, 2009
Despite its reduced overall size, the new Neumann TLM 102 large-diaphragm condenser microphone is ideal for recording loud vocals and big sounds, such as that from percussion, drums, amps, and other loud sound sources.
Now let's talk specs. The TLM 102 has transformerless circuitry, a cardioid polar pattern, frequency range of 20 Hz to 20 kHz, rated impedance of 50 ohms, maximum sound pressure level of 144 dB, and a slight presence boost above 6 kHz.
The microphone is available in either a black or nickel finish, and it comes with its own standmount. Neumann expects to issue an elastic spider suspension mount sometime in the near future.
