Neumann TLM-67: U-67 Goes Transformerless From Summer NAMM 2008
We're almost running out of things to say about Nashville, which is a shame in this video, because we marvel at the Neumann TLM-67. It's a transformerless version of Neumann's own U-67. That's not to be confused with Newman's Own Family Recipe Italian Dressing, though both are incredible.
ROBB BLUMENREDER: Hi. My name is Rob Blumenreder. We’re here at the Sennheiser booth, and Neumann is part of Sennheiser so we’re going to talk a little bit some of the new products that we’ve come out with specifically for the NAMM Show.
Neumann is very proud to announce the TLM-67.[ The TLM-67 is based on the historic and legendary U-67. It has the same style body. It is a multi-pattern microphone, but we have transformer-less circuitry in this. We’ve also taken a little bit of the technology we used in the TLM-49 and we put that into the TLM-67, so we have a circuit in here that emulates even-order harmonics that is generally what happens when you overdrive a tube microphone. So, this microphone has a great vintage look to it. It’s very versatile. It is transformer-less technology. It’s going to start shipping in July, so that is the TLM-67. Neumann’s been around since 1928 and this is our 80th year, and as you can tell from the commemorative point here, we’re very proud to continue the legacy of Mr. Georg Neumann.
As I mentioned, Neumann is proud to be celebrating 80 years of successful business, and as an added incentive for our long-time customers, we want to invite you to visit www.80yearsneumann.com for your chance to w in a brand new TLM-67. If you think you know music history better than anybody else, go over to the web site and test your knowledge and best of luck. Thanks for joining us.
