Neutrik HDMI 1.3 Feedthrough Connector: The HDMI Wave Is About To Hit The Music Technology Landscape
The High-Definition Multimedia Interface (or HDMI) boasts of simplicity of use with high-speed features featuring uncompressed data transmission. For music applications, HDMI can be a great way of utilizing high-speed high-resolution digital technology in a universal standard that virtually eliminates clutter. With backward compatibility in mind, old HDMI compatible equipment can be used as well, especially with the vintage trend going on in music applications. You can now imagine having a single audio, video, and MIDI interface running just a single cable connection running multiple data transmissions uncompressed and at a high speed to your DAW. Wide-spread implementation of such technology is even closer to reality thanks to the Neutrik HDMI Feedthrough Connector.
Neutrik recognized the rise of HDMI in electronics, thus it developed and introduced their HDMI 1.3 feedthrough in their universal D-style chassis connector at InfoComm 2009. Similar to their newest USB and FireWire connectors that debuted at InfoComm 2009 as well, the HDMI 1.3 Feedthrough Connector is equipped with the same optional screen to chassis grounding and sealing gasket features for a lockable and watertight digital interface connection. These new chassis connectors (NAHDMI-W, NAHDMI-W-B) are well suited for digital TV and PC video format transmission including HDTV.
Designed with 19-pole HDMI receptacles found at both ends, HDMI 1.3 is available in both nickel and black housing. In anticipation of future requirements and updates, Neutrik has designed these connectors to meet the latest specifications. With Neutrik's expertise in building connectors, it will be no surprise that these the HDMI 1.3 Feedthrough Connector will soon find its way to new music gear including mixing boards, audio/MIDI interfaces, and others.
