The Neve Portico 5042 Tape Emulator is one of an arsenal of gear used by musician/producer/writer, Adrian Quesada. Quesada is one half of Ocote Soul Sounds and runs Level One Studios in Austin, Texas.  

Coming soon from AMS Neve, the 1073LBEQ is a new 500 Series mono equalizer that brings back the features of the original Neve 1073 Classic module.

Mr. Jimmy Shaw of Metric, ever talented and respectably gear-nerdy, was simply delighted to talk to Gearwire about the sweet challenge of finding vintage gear online. One of Shaw's most important studio fixtures came from our fair city of Chicago. It's a Neve 5432, and if you've listened to Metric, you better believe you've heard it already.

Allen Sides, at Ocean Way Studios, shows us Studio D, complete with their Custom Neve 88R mixing console and a tiny wall full of gear. Like most greater studio gear, there's an even greater story behind how it all got there, and Mr. Sides tells it in this video.
