Clavia / Nord Licenses Chamberlin Sound Library, Acquires Rights To Use And Market Original Chamberlin Sounds
At Winter NAMM 2010, Clavia, the Swedish manufacturer of Nord keyboards, announced its licensing agreement with M Resch AB to exclusively use and market the original sounds from the Chamberlin sound library.
The Chamberlin was the original tape replay instrument developed and patented by inventor Harry Chamberlin from 1949 to 1956. Various models and versions were manufactured until 1981, and during the years of production, the Chamberlin sound library grew and grew. Now, that large library is available to Clavia and Nord and you.
Sixty sounds are included in the Chamberlin library, which has been digitized in 24-bit, 44.1 kHz resolution. The Library includes flute, three violins, steel guitar, dixieland rhythms, muted trumpet, bass clarinet, four saxes, cello, slur guitar, glockenspiel, bassoon, mandolin, and many more sounds. Soon they will be available in the Nord Sample Library format, to be used with units compatible with the Nord Sample Library. The library will be released as a free download from the Nord Keyboards Web site.
