Noteflight Crescendo Online Music Notation Software Hits The Web
Notation software maker Noteflight, LLC has announced that its Crescendo online music notation software platform is now up and running on the Web.
Crescendo goes beyond the free version of the software, Noteflight, and is basically Noteflight version 2.0. The Crescendo platform offers a full set of score writing and music composition tools, including a music notation editor, guitar tablature, enhanced orchestral virtual instruments, score templates, increased storage, and advanced sharing permissions that allow you to share your musical works with others on the site.
Going further, Crescendo also features 40 professional orchestral, jazz, and rock instruments, including complete woodwind sections, brass and reed sections, guitars, basses, percussion, and solo and ensemble strings.
With support for guitar tab music, you can create tablature from scratch, import XML tab from guitar tab software, and convert MIDI files to tablature. The resulting tab files can be viewed in two different formats (rhythmically or in basic tab format), as well as edited and shared with other Crescendo users. You can also listen to guitar tab in your choice of new bass guitar, electric guitar, and acoustic guitar sounds.
Score writing has also been expanded and simplified. You can now use over 35 stock templates (in different ensemble types) to create and store hundreds of scores. Like other social networking sites, Crescendo lets you control which community members can view, edit, and comment on scores and songs.
