Numark DDS80 Is Immune To Time
Numark makes some lofty claims about their new DDS80 CD player -- namely that it's future-proof. Though it's basically a computer solely dedicated to playing music and DJing features, can it survive the imminent battle between man and machine set to be waged in 2020? For humanity's sake, I sure hope not.
FELIX “MEMPHIS” RAINES: Hello. My name is Felix with Numark, and I’m really happy to show the only future-proof CD player.
If you see in, right here it looks just like a CD player. You have your two decks. Look down here, you have a CD/DVD player with MP3. You also have a hard drive, expandable hard drive. It comes with an 80-GB hard drive but you can actually take it out and upgrade to up to a 1-TB hard drive.
Not only that, you have USB input in the front, two USB in the back so you can actually plug in an iPod. You can plug in an external hard drive, a keyboard so you can actually search through all your media. Really easy to use, if you go right here, you see you have your two songs. You have two decks so I can assign -- If I look for a song right here, let’s say I want to assign this one to deck A, you can flow it right there. If I want to assign the other song to deck B, there you go.
Now, a really good technology that we have in too is the Crate. If I go into all my songs, and let’s say I’m planning my show ahead, I can actually load a crate. Once I have all my crates featured in, and let’s say when I get to my gig, I just place my crate and that’s my two songs that I added to the crate.
Once again that’s the DDS80, the future-proof CD player.
