Now shipping, the Numark X5 is a 24-bit, 2-channel digital DJ mixer that borrows the industrial design of the company's Serato Itch controllers (the NS7, NSFX, and V7) and would pair well with the V7 motorized turntable software controller (see the image below).

Though Numark would prefer that you fit the X5 between a pair of matching V7s, the X5 DJ mixer is compatible with all turntables, CD players, and other sources, not just Numark gear. The X5 has a rugged (club friendly) construction with durable knobs, buttons, and faders in addition to the CP PRO crossfader, just like the NS7 motorized digital DJ controller.

The 24-bit, high-resolution mixer features A/D and D/A circuitry and look-ahead limiters at the master, booth, and headphone outputs for lossless, clip-proof audio performance. Additional features include a line-fader slope and reverse controls, channel Transform triggers, repositionable phono / line switches, three-band combination EQ on each channel, and mini-crossfader cueing control -- all features that Numark says a performance DJ will appreciate. Connections include balanced analog and S/PDIF optical and coaxial digital outputs, which are said to ensure optimal transmission of DJs’ performances to amplification and recording systems.

The X5 has a signal-to-noise ratio greater than 100 dB, less than 0.005 percent total harmonic distortion, and frequency response of 10 to 20,000 Hz. Numark notes that the X5 delivers your mix to the PA, recording system, and your headphones without distortion or coloration, and its components and rugged build make it the ideal mixer for scratch DJs.
