On-Stage Stands GS8200 ProGrip II Hang-It Guitar Stand Released
New to the Hang-It series of instrument stands, the On-Stage Stands GS8200 ProGrip II Hang-It Guitar Stand allows an instrument to hang from its headstock rather than sit in a cradle. All stands in the Hang-It series function in this way.
The GS8200 ProGrip II Hang-It Guitar Stand joins a number of other models in the Hang-It series: the GS8100 ProGrip Guitar Stand, GS7155 Single Guitar Stand, GS7255 Double Guitar Stand, and GS7355 Triple Guitar stand.
The GS8200 is designed to allow guitars, basses, banjos, and similar instruments to hang securely from their headstocks rather than sit in a cradle. According to the manufacturer, the Hang-It design is stable and especially well suited for long instruments with asymmetrical body styles.
The first generation GS8100 Pro-Grip Stand, introduced earlier last year, is equipped with On-Stage Stands' ProGrip gate system. When placed into the GS8100’s cam-activated yoke, the instrument’s weight closes the padded gates, locking the headstock firmly in place. The instrument stays put even with the vigorous bumping that can occur on crowded stages or in rehearsal studios. The system releases simply by lifting the guitar up and out of the stand.
The new GS8200 ProGrip II also uses an auto-locking yoke system, but features a spring-loaded gate that allows for even easier instrument removal. The weight of a guitar draws the spring-loaded yoke arms to pull the gates of the yoke shut, all in one single action, and picking up the guitar opens the gates instantly outward for unobstructed removal. The GS8200 stand also includes a purple designer cam locking mid-point clutch and reinforced leg housing.
What's more, the GS8200 is lined with soft velveteen rubber at all contact points, specially formulated to avoid marring or reacting with instrument finishes. The guitar stand's wide reinforced tripod base supports up to 40 lbs., and the yoke height is adjustable from 30 inches to 43 inches.
Suitable for any style of guitar, bass, or banjo, the GS8200 is available for $59.99 (MSRP). For more details, visit onstagestands.com.
