Opulent Audio bLO-FIsh Is Like A White Castle Slider Topped With Wolfgang Puck's Sicilian Blood Orange Sauce

Opulent Audio bLO-FIsh

Opulent Audio's new VST, bLO-FIsh, is an 8-bit emulator that thinks it's a modular synth. At the core of the VST three wave oscillators with selectable Sine, Saw, Ramp, Triangle, Square and two different widths of Pulse waves.

The generated waveform then gets sent though a bunch of familiar-sounding filters, tempo-synced and free-time LFO modulators, and an effects section that includes something called "CeapoDisto" distortion. It operates anywhere between mono- and octo-polyphony, and can even run at 16-bit if you're looking for something a little less reminiscent of ExciteBike.

Really, though, the bLO-FIsh's raison d'etre is retro-nasty LO-FI; it's right there, awkwardly incorporated into the VST's name, and as a showcase for the bLO-FIsh's signature bleep, Opulent Audio has posted a sweet little song called "Backstabber" on his website.

The price of registration for this nifty little soft-synth is only eight bucks; it includes all future updates, and full functionality -- even the "OMG!" function!*

*You can't see it in the pic on this article, but there's really an "OMG!" button on the VST interface. We assume it's a Clay Aiken emulator.
