Orange Amps Limited Edition 2009 White Finish: Like Rocking A T-Shirt That Says "Calvin Klein Jeans"
When no less a shred guitar icon than Madonna custom orders a few Orange full stacks in a custom white finish, you know you've got a blockbuster fashion trend in the making. Just like Madge's line of fashionable duds offered through H&M a few years back, this new look is also budget friendly. Orange Amps is offering a white finish option on all their amps for 2009, and, for a limited time, at no additional charge.
Of course, while towering white amp stacks look pretty darn cool on stage, there may be a few. . . well, I won't call them drawbacks so much I'll call them "provisos":
- In Japan, the color white symbolizes mourning, so you'll have to explain to everyone their that, no, you're not in a goth band.
- If you're on a USO tour, you might want to leave the white amps at home; the troops might think you're advocating surrender.
- People might not recognize you as an Orange player right away; you're going to have to rock Seek & Destroy at least once every set to remind them.
- Your roadies might think you're making them the butt of a "white elephant" joke and not take it too kindly.
- In Russia you'll be considered a classist, in Quebec you'll be considered a peacenik, in Iran you'll be considered nostalgic for the Shah and in 1873 you'll be considered a Prohibitionist; be aware of your surroundings.
Also, don't sit your coffee atop your amp. These things stain like WHAT.

They're Awesome and You KNOW IT.
But I'm clearly biased, being one of the world's only guitargeek Madonna fans.
Besides, if Gary Moore had done white first, you'd be all over them like Madonna to Jesus...
I play thru an AD140, and
I play thru an AD140, and I'd rock those without hesitation. Orange makes great amps, regardless of the color.
