Sonar vs. Samplitude
The notion that a 64 bit float DAW will sound better than a 32 bit float DAW is purely a marketing gimmick. A straw man. Any mathematical "advantages" in precision are beneath the resolution of your DACs, let alone your ears. While there may be OS/hardware compatibility questions for which 64 bit float is a solution, it is an insignificant issue as far as sound quality is concerned.
I´m running Sonar 8.5, and

but my opinion and of the guys working with me in the studio, Samplitude sounds better and is more stable.
64bit is great, but it´s a number, trust your ears, not the numbers!
