In this Gearwire video shot from the floor of MusikMesse 2007 in Frankfurt we caught some of DJ Rafik's set at the Ortofon booth. I won't front -- I'm an instrumental musician and I know about as much about DJ culture as the average bank teller -- but I do know that Rafik has some serious moves behind the decks and they are all over this video. The Ortofon cartridge Rafik is using is the Concorde ARKIV, an elliptical stylus unit Ortofon sells along with about a dozen other cartridge solutions.
Okay, I guess technically I was "fronting" when I used the word "front" in the above sentence as if I do that all the time. Sue me, yo.
