Paul Reed Smith Al DiMeola Prism: The New Pride Of PRS
The newest Al DiMeola signanture guitar is also his first with Paul Reed Smith. The PRS Al DiMeola Prism is based on the Custom 22, and boasts the same top-notch hardware and craftsmanship as the best PRS axes, while featuring a one-of-a-kind finish.
According to the PRS press release:
"When discussions about this new signature model began, Al and Paul Reed Smith were both adamant that the guitar maintained the highest quality and tonal integrity.
Then Al was all, "wait, we can still give it a silly, tye-dyed rainbow finish, right?"
And Paul was like, "Al, if you want your name on a guitar that's aesthetically reminiscent of both LeVar Burton's favorite pair of suspenders AND NYC's West Village on Halloween, that's your call, buddy."
And then Al said "WORD!" and ripped a sweet Lydian solo while doing a jumping kick-split.
The Al DiMeola features a curly maple custom "9" top with mahogany back, 25" scale length, 22 fret Mexican rosewood fingerboard, custom Al Di Meola neck carve, grommet style locking tuners, standard abalone bird inlays and a tremolo bridge.
