Peavey Nano Vypyr: New Portable, Nearly Nano-Sized Modeling Guitar Amplifier Introduced
Nearly a dozen amp models and more than 30 effect combinations come packed with the new Peavey Nano Vypyr ($249.99 MSRP) portable modeling guitar amplifier.
Ready to grab and go, the Nano Vypyr is indeed compact and convenient. The amp is powered by either AC adapter or four D batteries, and it outputs 15W power. What's more, the amp houses a 6.5-inch loudspeaker in a 10-inch cube enclosure engineered with a true transmission line porting system that enhances bass response, sound projection, and volume.
The Nano Vypyr offers 11 exclusive analog amp models: two each of clean, overdrive, rock, metal, and lead, plus one acoustic model. In addition the tones for each model can be tweaked via controls for global bass, mid, treble, and gain.
Its built-in DSP section includes 32 possible combinations of chorus, wah, compression, compression / chorus, flanger, octaver, tremolo, rotary speaker, reverb, and delay with tap tempo. An effects control knob adjusts multiple parameters for each effect, while the optional expression pedal provides real-time parameter control over the effects.
Additional features include a microphone input with level, a chromatic tuner, an auxiliary input, headphone output, an adjustable handle, and strap buttons on each side.
