Peavey Triple XXX II: New 3-Channel 120W Guitar Amplifier

January 16, 2011
Peavey announced the Triple XXX II guitar amplifier, a three-channel, 120W amp featuring classic Peavey tones.

Check out the new Peavey Triple XXX II three-channel, 120W guitar amplifier. According to Peavey, the Triple XXX II delivers tones ranging from the Peavey Classic 50 to vintage British to the modern Triple XXX and all tones in between.

The amp's control section supplies a master volume pot and independent volume knobs for each of the three channels (Clean, Rhythm, and Lead). Tone shaping options are provided by the passive controls for Bass, Mid, and Treble on the Clean channel, while the Rhythm and Lead channels use active Low, Mid, and High controls.

The Triple XXX II Clean channel is the perfect foundation for layering outboard effects, Peavey says. The high-gain Rhythm and Lead channels both include a Noise Gate and exclusive FAT switches that add extra heft, while the master section features Resonance and Presence tone-sculpting tools, which adjust upper- and lower-end response and damping factor. What's more, the power amp can use EL34 or 6L6GC output tubes, further expanding the tonal options.

Peavey Triple XXX II features:

  • 120W into 16, 8, or 4 ohms (switchable)
  • Four 12AX7 preamp tubes
  • Four EL34 power amp tubes Power amp switchable to use EL34s or 6L6GSs

This is nothing new

This is the exact same amp as the JSX, all they did was remove the face plate and put XXX on it. Same specs, same chassis, same everything.

Congrats to Peavey for being a bunch of lazy inconsiderate assholes.

At least make it a little different from the JSX?

Peavey builds outstanding

Peavey builds outstanding amplifiers that are extremely dependable and they didn't become the biggest in the business by being lazy. They did it by being innovative.

Lighten up with the hate.
