Peavey left out some details
I was very thrilled and very disappointed with the Vypyr. Thrilled at the idea, the light weight the sound quality... Peavey packed a lot into this and it's a sonic winner. BUT ... The advertising claimed that it had MIDI IN and OUT, and it doesn't. It has the ability to communicate with a computer and the ability to be controlled with a foot pedal -- only it's OWN foot controller however. I was hoping to include it in my set - up - a multi amp set up all controlled from one MIDI footcontroller. The VYPER cannot be set up to do this. It's no better than the Line 6, Vox amps in that respect - you have to buy THEIR footcontroller to be able to switch presets and control parameters. So much great stuff, yet not the most important ones.
A locked door on a candy store! Hopefully Peavey will make a similar product with MIDI IN and OUT (for REAL) and include more MIDI implemenation
Peavey details cont'd..
Just as commented above, I was about to purchase the Peavey Vypyr 75watt amp then...Question: will this be compatible with the rest of my rig??Hmmm?? Nope!!
Even my Pod XT and my Flextone let's me control it VIA Midi Footboard!! Peavey blatantly not only deceives consumers with this MIDI in/out statement, on their site they skirt it totally?? In the 10meg pdf owners manual, only a quick mention of this port? No PC or CC code information. or compatibility?
Hello Peavey, Please check out LINE 6, Behringer ,Roland etc.....for true midi control options!! Unfortunately, I really wanted to give this amp a try...better luck next time.
