The joined forces of Peavey Electronics hardware and Waves DSP have spawned the new IPR DSP Series of power amplifiers, which let you dial in the exact amount of bass, high frequencies, EQ, and more.  

It's the love affair of the millennium as GW Guest Blogger Scott Wilcox extols the Peavey Millenium USA Bass. Can you believe this bass's namesake year is almost a decade past?  

The summer series of promos from various manufacturers is still on. Peavey is out to offer their own sweet deal with the announcement of a rebate program for buyers of select Peavey MAX Series Bass Amplifiers.  

Owen's back with the last of the four epic demos that make up the Peavey Vypyr series. Here we have the Peavey Vypyr Tube 60. Blending the functional convenience of a digital amp and the old-school vibe of a vacuum tube power section, we have to wonder: does the Vypyr Tube 60 qualify as "steampunk"?  

The Peavey PXD Void III doesn't seem to necessarily fall into Owen's general music preferences, but that may just be a silly assumption on all our parts. It's heavy to start with, and then Peavey adds this little knob called an Afterburner that just blows Owen's mop right off his head. In fact, I think that's what happened to his beard, too.  

Just when you thought the Peavey Vypyr Guitar Combos had enough features already, Owen has to go and whip out the pedals. The Peavey Sanpera Pedals I and II not only let you get faster access to features you normally have to dial in, and get you into that sweet looper -- they also predict the future and open garage doors from a distance. Not really.

Matt Sekel has been telling us a lot about his effects chain, and he mostly winds it up here with the Peavey 412MS Stereo Cabinet. As if he doesn't already have enough issues with the soundguys, being that ambient noise guy who goes on between all the metal acts, now he has to get them to mic his cab in stereo. It ain't easy.  

The new Peavey 3120 head features three channels, four preamp tubes, four power tubes and one-hundred twenty watts of output. It's a spec sheet that's best expressed through the following formula:

While guitarists may be jumping for joy over several products announced by Peavey at the Winter NAMM 2009 Show, Peavey made sure not to leave bassists out of the fun, as I had earlier advised them to do. Not heeding my advice, the Peavey TNT and Peavey TKO bass amps joined the Peavey Tour Series, combining massive power with lightweight constructions for a new generation of bass players (yeah . . . an even wimpier generation). Whatever, Peavey -- just don't say I didn't warn you.

I'm just joking, of course. Some of my best friends are bassists.

 

NAMM regular Joe Satriani gives the assist to Peavey this year at the Winter NAMM Show with the JSX 50 amplifier. The Anaheim Convention Centre is like Satriani's "Cheers."  

Fully complemented by the Sanpera II Footswitch and Slant 412 EX cab, the Peavey VYPYR Tube 120 is one mean modeling machine. It's definitely a-HEAD of its class when it comes to amp modeling. Stop ROTFLYAOing and read up.  

So you like the high-gain onslaught of the 6505, but you really only need an amp for gigging small, intimate rooms where there's a certain shared experience to the brutality and bloodshed. Fret not -- Peavey introduces the 6505 Plus 112, a 1x12 combo version of their legendary amplifier.  

As if you couldn't get enough Van Hagar back in 1993, Peavey unleashed this goodie upon the world. Despite it's diagonal positioning in this ad, however, this amp turned out to be quite useful for touring artists.

You see, Stihl makes heavy-duty saws that cut through concrete, and Peavey makes guitars that are played by Rock stars like Eddie Van Halen and Steve Morse. Stihl, on the other hand, is endorsed by. . . uh. . . my dad has one of their chainsaws?  

When Peavey acquired Alien Connections and ReValver in 2007, it was apparent that they had noticed the growing popularity of computer-based amp modeling. The fruits of that purchase are now in bloom with ReValver Mk III, now most likely featuring more Peavey models than ever before.  

No, it's not easy to catch a glimpse of the PDX in this, the only picture* Peavey has made availible for the new line, but here's what I gather about the new guitars from the general tone of the picture: you will make eyes at them, they will aggresively flirt, rock your world in an alley, then break your heart and/or mug you.
