A thing of beauty is often inspirational. This concept, often quoted by the classicists as in accordance to the so-called golden ratio, has widespread acceptance that people go lengths to achieve it everything from aesthetics up to more internal qualities. The bass guitar is not exempt from this concept, and the Pedulla Guitars Nuance, a new bass guitar model, exhibits that class with stunning looks with an equivalent sound (don't all of them just do that nowadays?).

One of the appealing thing you will notice about the Nuance is the careful selection of woods that are used in its construction. Soft maple is used for making the back and is topped of with either Maple Burl, Arbutis Burl, or Red Heart Quilted Maple to contribute a distinctive high end. Clarity, stability, and warmth are added in by a quartersawn two-piece hard maple neck with a bolt-on configuration. This is completed with a 22-fret ebony fingerboard for that midrange that is important in creating what is called a "glassy" and clear high end. Hardware components include a fully adjustable brass bridge and standard Pedulla tuning gears. Custom-voiced active Bartolinis with an active tone system with controls for volume, pickup pan, bass boost and cut, treble boost and cut, and midrange boost and cut switch, all powered by one 9V battery. All wooden components are finished off with an oil/urethane finish. Other features include an ebony backplate, easy access battery box, and the Pedulla truss rod design.

The Pedulla Guitars Nuance Bass was once conceived as an acoustic instrument, which is pretty much reflective of the final design components such as the meticulous selection of woods. These basses are available in either four- or five-string units, fretted or fretless, a choice of tops as described above, and a choice of hardware color (black, chrome, or gold). Such characteristics spell out the term "boutique" and pricing can be expected to amount to just the same with the Pedulla Guitars Nuance being priced at 4,995.00 USD.
