Percussa AudioCubes: Control Your Music In A Whole New Light
For those of you who would rather play with blocks than twist knobs or click a mouse, an innovative new concept for both performance and control from Percussa AudioCubes are going to be dislayed at Winter NAMM 2008. The Percussa AudioCubes are quite unique from anything else out there.
Almost like blocks for grown-ups, these lighted cubes communicate across wireless connections to each other to process audio and MIDI information. While you control your music by moving and combining cubes to change the applied effects settings and configurations.
The cubes also put on a stunning light performance in synchronization with your music which makes these cubes the tops for live performance. In fact, it's probably easier to just show you the AudioCubes in action:
System Requirements and Recommendations:
- Compatible with Windows XP and Mac OSX 10.4 or later.
- One USB 1.1 or later port is required to configure the AudioCubes.
- Percussa recommends that you have at least 256MB of RAM in your computer, 600MB free disk space (for sound libraries) and a Pentium 3 or Mac G3 or later processor.
- For charging the AudioCubes' internal batteries, the use of a USB Hub is recommended.
- The cubes come with configuration software (patches) and the Max/MSP runtime. Using Max/MSP is not necessary, but it allows advanced users to modify Percussa's software patches
- It is recommended that anyone modifying the software patches buy a Max/MSP license (or use the demo freely available from Cycling74's website)
