JEFF KRENN: Hi. My name is Jeff and I play guitar and sing in These Green Eyes.

I got two pedals that I really like. One is Peterson Strobostomp 2. It’s a strobe tuner pedal in a pedal, and I used to use the Boss tuner pedal that’s kind of like the TU-2...

PATRICK OGLE: The TU-2.

JEFF KRENN: ...standard that everybody uses and I toured with the band that I watched go through four of them and I was teching for them and they would hand me guitars, “This is out of tune. This is out of tune. Why are you giving me these guitars out of tune?” because I’ve been using a TU-2, and so the guy that was like the lead tech for the bigger band on the tour was like, “Try this,” and I wasn’t getting complaints anymore, and he was like, “This pedal cost me 20 bucks more. It’s never going to fall apart.”

PATRICK OGLE: So, probably that one’s about 1220 bucks?

JEFF KRENN: Yeah. Exactly, and it uses the Boss AC adapters anyway so I use it. It measures four different octaves of pitch frequency accuracy. It’s got like different settings.

GREG MAURO: It’s pretty difficult looking. I couldn’t figure out how to use that. If you gave me one of those things, I couldn’t do a tone with it [OVERLAPPING]

JEFF KRENN: I wouldn’t have been able to do it either, if [OVERLAPPING] how to do it.

PATRICK OGLE: [LAUGHING]

GREG MAURO: [OVERLAPPING] I think [INDISCERNIBLE]

JEFF KRENN: It’s got four bands spectrum of sound like.

PATRICK OGLE: So, it’s a learning curve kind of.

JEFF KRENN: Yeah. But once you get it, I think it really -- it really helps keep you in pretty accurate tune. Most of my guitars stay in tune pretty well anyway.

GREG MAURO: Yeah.

JEFF KRENN: But I’m just like kind of OCD about making sure.

I need awesome gear... I'd like a free gear catalog!
My opinion is awesome. I'd like to take a gear survey
