Phil Ramone, Grammy Broadcast Supervisor, On Always Having A Plan-B (Video)
February 22, 2010
Redundancy is not a word with many positive associations -- unless you're talking about live audio production, that is. Broadcast Supervisor for the 2010 Grammy Awards Show (and legendary producer in his own right) Phil Ramone spoke with Gino Robair about the importance of implementing redundant systems in critical applications, which is a fancy way of saying "have two of everything, because one will fail."
In summation, a good plan B consists of a reliable team, plenty of practice, and gear that you don't have to think twice about unplugging. Mr. Ramone elaborates on each point in this segment of our video interview.
