JASON DONNELLY: Once again, Jason Donnelly with Gearwire.Com and one of my favorite CD decks in the entire world, the CDJ1000 MK3 by Pioneer. Right off the bat, this puppy fires up beautifully. You got a front-loading CD deck right there, and wait for that to load.

Great action there for scratching.

This is the overall killer deck -- One of the best in the market I mean. It’s hard to beat this, the feel, everything. Very authentic, it feels just like vinyl. It’s says vinyl in the middle. There’s another thing I’d like to point out about this deck. You got your cue button, your start, play, pause, reverse.

Forward. Here’s your tempo, pitch bend, -10%, +10%, tempo reset to zero.

Jog mode can be set to CDJ versus vinyl.
[JASON DONNELLY PLAYING A TRACK USING THE PIONEER CDJ1000 MK3]
CDJ obviously you can hear the difference, basically slowing down and speeding up, sort of cueing the track versus vinyl where you can actually stop it by touching this.

Spin backwards, backspinning.
[JASON DONNELLY PLAYING A TRACK USING THE PIONEER CDJ1000 MK3]
That’s what they call that in the DJ world. It’s backspinning, stopping by touching the top and backspinning, scratching.

And you also have your looping features, hot cue, record mode where you can basically record and sample loops into this bad boy and they store right here in this little slot. There’s an SD card slot. You can choose the tempo actually that you can assign a -16 to the pitch bend, you can hear that...,

...and a +16 or +10, -10 as I’ve shown you earlier, or the + or -6.
[JASON DONNELLY PLAYING A TRACK USING THE PIONEER CDJ1000 MK3]
That’s a nice feature. Vinyl speed adjustment. You’ve got a vinyl speed adjustment here. Touch and break.
[JASON DONNELLY PLAYING A TRACK USING THE PIONEER CDJ1000 MK3]
So, you can adjust how sharp you want that slope. Same thing with your release and start.
[JASON DONNELLY PLAYING A TRACK USING THE PIONEER CDJ1000 MK3]
And you have cue loop memory.
[JASON DONNELLY PLAYING A TRACK USING THE PIONEER CDJ1000 MK3]
MP3 folder search because it does play MP3 data discs. Realtime cue, text mode: You can see the title of the track playing right here in text mode.

So, that pretty much sums that up really quick in a nutshell. That’s the CDJ1000 by Pioneer. This is Jason Donnelly with Gearwire.Com.
