Planet Waves

Banking on the existence of a huge guitarist-iDork cross demographic*, Line 6 and Planet Waves announced their collaboration on a new iPhone app at the World Wide Developers Conference. And what does it do? Why, it wirelessly controls your Line 6 Variax (and possibly Vetta amp), of course! . . . sigh.

*and based on the success of the Chordmaster App, I'd say it's a safe bet they're making.  

You know, I usually turn my cell phone off when I perform, but not anymore. I'm getting an iPhone and the Planet Waves Chord master app, and I'll be able to quickly look up complex chord voices on the fly! My performances will never go uninterrupted again! Unless Bono finally calls me back.  

Since musicians love working out, guitarists should be pretty psyched about the news that Planet Waves will be displaying the new Varigrip at Winter NAMM 2009. The ladies will notice you walking around with those chiseled fingers, and why not make good on that New Year's Resolution to finally get those rock-hard six-pack abs on your palms that'll have Jesus asking, what would YOU do?  

One of the neat and useful gadgets Planet Waves is going to be highlighting at Winter NAMM 2009 is the new Headstock Tuner. Headstock Tuner? More like Woodstock Tuner because you'll feel like you're playing Woodstock, that's how in tune you'll be.  

Nothing makes changing preamp-added folk instruments easier than Planet Waves Circuit Breaker cables. These cables are some of Juan Dies' favorite cables to bring on stage with the multi-instrumental ensemble, Sones de Mexico.  

Admittedly, Planet Waves normally wouldn't take the trip to present at a trade show, but their new Modular Snake changed that. Here they are at AES showing this conveniently designed snake, which is a blessing for studios and live sound setups alike.
