Planet Waves Circuit Breaker: One Feature To Rule Them All
The Planet Waves Circuit Breaker instrument cables add on one feature that puts them ahead of the cable game. A button on the cable jack really adds a lot of usefulness to your average instrument cable. When disengaged, the signal is cut, so you're free to unplug or change guitars without irritating feedback, and you can kill the noise between songs.
J. IRVING-GILES: Hi. This is J. Irving-Giles with Gearwire.Com, and I’m sure cables aren’t the most interesting thing that comes to mind when you’re talking about equipment for a guitar, but there’s no denying that they’re very important and I want to talk about the cables that I’ve been using quite a bit, and it is the Planet Waves Circuit Breaker cable.
It’s different from most other cables on the market, and it has got this little switch here. It’s a kill switch. When it’s disengaged, no signal goes through, and when you’ve got it pushed in, it just functions as a regular guitar cable. And what’s great about having that is you can switch your guitar just on the stage without having to go back to the amp or turn anything down. Just kill the cable, plug it into the new guitar, you don’t get any feedback.
The same thing goes for just needing to need the guitar. It’s just a good, great kill switch. You don’t have to mess with your volume knob. You don’t have to mess with any volume pedals in between songs when you need things to be quiet. Just hit the switch here, plug it in and it’s on, and signal instantly gone when you hit the kill switch. And I mean there’s not much more to it than that.
It costs less than most Monster Cables of the equivalent footage and I think it sounds really good. It’s really a low-noise cable and it just has one feature that puts it far and above the rest of the cables in my opinion. That’s the Planet Waves Circuit Breaker.
