Planet Waves Chord Master iPhone Application: Only Suckers Have Chordless Phones
Quickly becoming the biggest selling iTunes Store download since that first Gnarls Barkley album, the Planet Waves Chord Master is one killer app. Sure you can get standalone Chord Master units, some of which also function as tuners and metronomes, but who wants to carry yet another piece of gear around with them? As no Apple user worth their salt is going to part bodily with their iPhone, it makes sense that the Chord Master app is so popular. . . it adds no actual matter to your person!
The Planet Waves Chord Master iPhone application indexes over 7,800 chords, displaying their fingerings on a virtual fretboard, as well as their notation. Making use oif the iPhone and iPod Touch's touch screen, the virtual fretboard can be strummed to hear the chord, or individual strings can be tapped to hear the single notes. No, Yngwie, you cannot tap a solo, only solo notes.
Both left and right hand diagrams are provided, and chord shapes can be moved up and down the fretboard, as well as multiple alternate fingers for each chord.
Chord master has been downloaded over 12,000 time since it was released less than a month ago, making it the number one selling application on the iTunes Store for the "Music Applications" category (the intensely stupid "Stick Wars" is the number one all-around seller for applications), and it enjoys a five-star customer rating.
"Planet Waves’ next step is to release a scale and arpeggio program in May, 2009," concludes the Press Release. Let's see if they buck the sophomore slump
