Planet Waves KISS Guitar Strap And Pick Designs: To Be Released For The Ultimate Fans

June 15, 2010
Planet Waves KISS guitar straps and picks will feature original album artwork, images of KISS band members, and more.

Soon, the makeup-laden faces of members from the band KISS, plus the band's logo and selected album artwork, will adorn Planet Waves straps and picks. Planet Waves will debut the new strap and pick designs at the 2010 Summer NAMM show in Nashville.

Inspired by the group's legendary album artwork, a number of unique strap designs will be available:

  • First KISS Album Cover: This classic KISS black, leather strap features the made-up faces of the KISS members -- the Demon, the Starchild, Catman, and Spaceman
  • Rhinestone: What’s a KISS strap without the glam? asks Planet Waves. The Rhinestone is a black leather strap that spells out "KISS" in a repeating pattern across the front in oh-so flashy rhinestones
  • Destroyer: Drawing from the iconic Destroyer album artwork, this black, leather strap spells out "Destroyer" down the strap with a group shot of the band in their KISS garb
  • Rock and Roll Over: A throwback to the days of the Rock and Roll Over album recorded at the Star Theatre in 1976, this black, leather strap features the KISS members’ faces along the front of the strap, as they had been featured on the original album cover
  • ALIVE II: The KISS ALIVE II strap features a photograph of each KISS member along the front of the strap, paying homage to the classic album artwork
  • Double Platinum: This super-slick strap is silver leather and is imprinted with the word "KISS" along the front
  • Sonic Boom: This strap honors the 19th studio album, the first to be released after an 11-year absence; the Sonic Boom strap is black leather and features the Demon, The Starchild, Catman, and Spaceman down the front, along with the sci-fi cartoon Sonic Boom album artwork

Now let's preview the three new pick designs:

  • ALIVE II: The KISS ALIVE II pick features a photograph of each band member, as well as the KISS logo; these designs are available in light, medium, and heavy picks
  • First KISS Album Cover: Pulling from the original KISS album, these picks sport the Demon, the Starchild, Catman, and Spaceman along with the signature KISS logo and are also available in light, medium, and heavy
  • Rock And Roll Over: Featuring the sci-fi cartoon artwork from the Rock and Roll Over album, there is a pick dedicated to each member, as well as a KISS logo pick; Rock And Roll Over picks are available in light, medium, and heavy

KISS straps will list at $54.99 (MSRP), while the new picks will cost $9.99 (MSRP) per pack of 10. Planet Waves will be making the new strap and pick designs available on July 15, 2010. To learn more about the new straps and picks, visit planetwaves.com.

KISS Guitar straps and picks

By: Les Paul Player (not verified)

I just picked up a KISS AliveII guitar strap and a set of matching picks at Hot Licks Guitar Shop in Waldorf MD. for around $35.00 for the strap and the picks for about $8.00. The strap quality is really nice, although Planet Waves need's to add a few more length adjustment slots for people who like to let their guitar or bass hang down low and not at chest level!

The pics on the other hand need some improvement as the art work on mine rubbed off in a matter of minutes!

I will call Planet Waves and see how their customer service is and report back.

Planet Waves Customer service gets a thumbs up!

I just spoke to a Customer service Rep at D'addario / Planet Waves in reference to graphics rubbing off on my KISS guitar pics and he said they will be sending me out some replacements by tomorrow! I also mentioned the strap length and he asked me how many more adjustment slots I recommended and he said that they would take care of it! So, KUDOS to D'addario / Planet Waves for great support to their customer's!
They now have a customer for life!
