Planet Waves Lynyrd Skynyrd, Mötley Crüe Straps: Support A Band, Wear A Guitar Strap
This weekend at the 2010 Summer NAMM show in Nashville, Tennessee, Planet Waves, a division of D'Addario & Company, Inc., will be unleashing its new line of guitar straps featuring the licensed designs of Lynyrd Skynyrd and Mötley Crüe.
The new designs follow in the footsteps of other Planet Waves straps and guitar picks sporting the Beatles, Woodstock, and Alchemy Gothic.
Lynyrd Skynyrd fans can pay homage to the American rock band with two different designs -- Flag and Skull. The Flag strap design is black leather with a Dixie flag printed on its face. Likewise, the Skull design is the one that you'll rock the bone yard with, notes Planet Waves; the Skull strap is also black leather, but features a vibrant skull and crossbones image on its front.
If you're more of a glam rock, Mötley Crüe kind of person, you'll like the three strap designs offered -- Sons of Satan, Girls, and Dr. Feelgood. The Sons of Satan leather strap pays tribute to the classic Crüe album Sons of Satan, printed with graphics from the album artwork. The next strap in line, Girls, is all about "Girls, Girls, Girls," featuring black leather imprinted with the song's title written down the strap in neon pink text. The Dr. Feelgood strap was designed for those with Rock Fever; this guitar strap reads, "The Doctor is In" along the front, along with other iconic album graphics and the Mötley Crüe name.
"A guitar strap is an easy way for a musician to show their support for their favorite band. Like a T-shirt, it’s a way to show your colors and support the scene," says Brian Vance, Planet Waves' senior product manager. He continues, "We’re happy to be working with these bands to offer straps displaying some amazing and iconic artwork."
Planet Waves' new licensed straps will list for $49.99 to $54.99 each, depending on the design. Lynyrd Skynyrd straps will be available as of July 1, 2010, and Mötley Crüe straps will be available as of July 15, 2010.
