Planet Waves NS Capo Tuner Combines NS Dual Action Capo With Chromatic Tuner
At Summer NAMM 2010, Planet Waves will introduce its new tuning baby, the NS Capo Tuner. The result of an ongoing collaboration between Ned Steinberger and D’Addario, the NS Capo Tuner combines the NS Dual Action Capo with a Planet Waves precision chromatic tuner, making for an all-around useful tool for guitarists.
The NS Capo Tuner provides accurate tuning at any fret or when clipped on the headstock or neck of an acoustic or electric guitar.
Let's take a look at what makes the NS Capo Tuner work. The patented compound action of the Dual Action Capo reduces the force necessary to open and close the capo, and it also eliminates the problem of side pulling the strings out of tune -- a common issue with trigger-type capos. Said to be accurate and easy to use, the NS Capo Tuner can be adjusted via the micrometer tension knob; according to Planet Waves, if you turn it ever so slightly, you can eliminate string buzzing and experience repeatable in-tune performance at every fret. The Planet Waves NS Capo Tuner is designed to fit standard 6-string and 12-string guitars.
The new unit sports a quick and accurate piezo-based tuning system based on the Planet Waves Headstock Tuner, as well as a multi-color LED display for easy viewing and fast tuning. You can use the NS Capo Tuner as a traditional headstock clip-on tuner or as a tool for fine-tuning your instrument while it's capoed on the neck. Planet Waves notes that by combining both of these features, your instrument will always be in tune.
Take it from the company's product manager Brian Vance, who says, "We understand players want simplicity and ease of use, but at the same time demand exacting performance. Ned Steinberger’s design accomplishes just that. It’s so simple to use, but offers the utmost precision in terms of intonation and accuracy. We believe it to be an ingenious tool that will make a huge difference in player’s lives and performance."
The new NS Capo Tuner will be released on August 1, 2010 for $64.99. For more information, please visit Planet Waves online at planetwaves.com.
