Port City Amps Pearl: Introducing The New Compact, 50W Tube Amp

April 01, 2010
Port City Amps Pearl amplifier features a 50W output, power tubes, preamp tubes, and more.

Simple, beautiful, and clean -- that's how Port City Amps describes its Pearl amplifier, the company's new go-to amp designed to go against the mainstream of overprocessed, multichannel amps on the market. The Pearl is said to offer pure, dynamic tone in its simplest form.

Ideal for small venues or any playing environment with a tight stage, the Pearl is compact and stage-friendly at 16 7/8" (W) x 8 ¾" (H) x 7" (D). According to the manufacturer, the Pearl pairs perfectly with the Port City 1 x 12 and 1 x 12 OS Wave cabinets.

At a glance, the Pearl features controls for volume, treble, middle, and bass; a Bright switch; two 6L6 power tubes (Tube Amp Doctor small bottle); three JJ preamp tubes; 50W output; a silicon diode rectifier; and optional tube buffered effects loop.

The Pearl amp lists at $1,425. For more information, please visit portcityamps.com.
