PowerFX Soundation Studio Online Sequencer Adds Direct Recording Feature
Now you can record directly to the PowerFX Soundation Studio Web-based sequencer and music-production application. In addition to working with loops and effects online, users of Soundation Studio can record their own tracks from directly into the online program, store them in Soundation's AudioLocker, share their recorded work with others, and more.
Developed by PowerFX, Soundation Studio offers a full-featured interface with 11 real-time effects, more than 400 royalty-free loops, 4 virtual instruments, 3 synthesizers, and a drum machine. Users can also upload their own sounds or purchase additional samples from PowerFX from inside the sequencer. After finishing up their tracks, Soundation Studio users can then save and store their work within Soundation, and / or publish their music to social networking sites like Facebook.
The new recording feature allows anyone to plug in a microphone to a computer and begin recording immediately, for free, with no additional equipment needed. However, to be able to save, store, download, or share songs with recorded tracks or uploaded samples, users will have to purchase an account (which starts at $19).
Soundation Studio's online features make the music-production application a convenient option for musicians and producers who don't have music software, sounds, or loops on their computer. Those who have a Soundation Studio account also have the advantage of storing their sounds and songs online and being able to access them from any Internet-accessible computer.
About the new recording feature, Bil Bryant, CEO of PowerFX, says, "Besides making a complete music track, you could record an inspired idea, vocal ringtone, audio blog, Podcast with a killer soundtrack, greeting or comic message."
The Soundation Studio sequencer is free for users to create from provided sounds, download their tracks to their computers, or share them online. The new recording feature is also available, but to be able to save, store, download or share songs with recorded tracks or uploaded samples, users will have to purchase an account.
