PowerFX Soundation Studio Adds The Wub Machine Virtual Instrument
There is a new virtual instrument in the Soundation Studio lineup -- PowerFX announced that Soundation Studio, the Web-based music making application, now offers a very bassy tool called The Wub Machine. This bassline monster was designed specifically to create deep, "phat," and massive basses for dubstep, drum 'n' bass, and grime-style electronic music.
The Wub Machine offers oscillators, analog-style filters, LFO, pitch, shape and glide functions, plus the exclusive MSL (make hit loud) knob. The oscillator section has two oscillators with triangle, saw, and square waves with Pitch, Gain, Glide and Shape knobs. In this section, glide can be independently applied to each oscillator, and the sub oscillator can be used to make the bass at hand extra beefy.
Meanwhile, the LFO section includes five waveforms; Depth, Phase, and Speed knobs; and the option to retrigger on each new key hit and loop the LFO. There are 5 types of analog-style filters, including Lowpass, Highpass, Peak, Notch, and Bandpass with knobs for Cutoff, Resonance, and Drive. Special Action knobs include MSL for volume, Filth for added nastiness and grit, and Unison.
"Soundation Studio has significantly raised the bar for making music online and The Wub Machine sets a whole new standard for virtual instruments in your browser", says CEO Bil Bryant. "Now we have the quality, sound, functionality and look of a top notch VSTi directly available free in Soundation Studio. This is another step forward in the evolution of online music making, as we continue our mission to develop innovative tools and features for browser-based music making."
