Precisionsound Gefle Bells SampleSet: For When You Want To Record Bell Tower But Don't Feel Like Dragging Yours Into The Studio
Precisionsound has apparently been spending some time in bell towers with the release of the Gefle Bells SampleSet. The bell sounds were recorded in the bell tower at the city hall of Gävle in Sweden from 36 gigantic bells.
Each bell has a rich series of harmonic tones, so if you thought all bells were basically the same, you're gravely mistaken. Because these bells are hand made, they are not completely chromatic, but the Gävle Bells are renowned for being extremely well tuned.
Composer Per Samuelsson sampled the Gefle Bells collection and used these in his studio when composing "Aditus," featuring one of the most blazing bell tower solos in the history of man. It'll seriously make you rip off your face.
Gefle Bells SampleSet features 71 Stereo 24bit WAV samples that are divided into programs for KONTAKT and HALion.
